Living in the Hudson Valley

For those of us who reside in the Hudson Valley there is no better place to live, work and play.

Locals enjoy all four seasons in an area rich in history, culture, fine dining and one of a kind events all while taking in the amazing scenery each county has to offer. Our agents at HBC are active in their communities, often working with local businesses and charities and visiting fascinating destinations.

Andrea Bergstol is an agent at HBC that brings with her a background in interior design and love of hiking. She also loves calling the Hudson Valley home and looks forward to raising her family here.

“My family and I LOVE living in the Hudson Valley, everything is at your fingertips. My husband and I were both born and raised here. I can go on and on as to what I love about the area (not to worry I will in future posts), but for now I will sum it up quickly. Let’s start with the seasons, we get to enjoy all four of them in the Hudson Valley; the fall foliage is absolutely breathtaking with its vivid colors of reds, oranges and yellows, the winters transform it into a wonderland of snow, the spring is amazing for hiking on the many trails here, and there is always something to do for a summer night. My husband and I love to hike and the trails range from easy to difficult which works for us. The image included was taken while hiking at Mount Beacon in Beacon, NY, https://www.scenichudson.org/mountbeacon , the views of the Hudson River are breathtaking from up there.

We just had our first child this past November and are in the process of looking for kid friendly trails (I will let you know what I find). We also love biking on the rail trails and strolling over the Hudson River on the Walkway Over the Hudson https://walkway.org/
Since I was a child I loved going into antique shops, you never know what you may find, and there are so many throughout the Hudson Valley. Do you have any favorites?

There is always something going on here – from great restaurants and museums to drive-in movie theaters and the many seasonal festivals, there is so much culture and art in the Hudson Valley that it becomes a part of your day to day existence.

Living here provides easy access to NYC, via car, train, bus and yes even a bicycle.
The Hudson Valley is home to many great museums, art galleries, shops, breweries, farms and is full of so much history.”
