Independence Day Traditions

This Independence Day weekend, we’ve chosen to highlight a couple of traditions here in the Hudson Valley. Whether you choose to celebrate with a family cookout, view the fireworks, or attend a parade, you’ll be sure to find exactly what you’d like.

A great way to celebrate the holiday with our neighbors is to attend a parade. Annual parades are happening all over the Hudson Valley for this long weekend, be sure to check them out!

Real Estate Agent Andrea Bergstol shared her plans for the holiday, “One of my traditions is to go up to the Adirondacks and spend it with my family watching the local parade.” Bergstol continued, “One of the great things about living in the Hudson Valley is that you’re not far from the Adirondack Mountains.”

Bergstol also shared an image from Adirondack Town’s parade a few years back. This Saturday, July 6, join Indian Lake for their parade from Town Hall to Byron Park at 6PM. Live music and fireworks will then be from 7PM-10PM.

Another great way to spend the Fourth is to have a family or neighborhood cookout. Many families also choose to view firework displays, attend a pool party, or even watch the annual hotdog-eating contest on TV. For Andrea Bergstol, she explained that she enjoys “sitting around the camp fire, playing corn hole and watching some fireworks.”

No matter what you choose to do, be sure to have a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July weekend!
